Hi everyone & welcome to Indian Gehne !

First, we will explain to you short what the word “Gehne” means for those who doesn’t know. “Gehne” is a Hindi (indian) word for jewellery. An adornment such as a ring or a necklace made of precious metals with imitation gems.

It is said that approximate 5000 years ago India was the first country in all of Asia to have started making and wearing jewellery. India is a land with many cultures and traditions, where jewellery has been a part of our lives for thousands of years.  

Indian Gehne is run by me, Anita & Amit Mehra.  We are not only business partners, but also husband & wife.

The idea started back in 2019. I mentioned to Amit that girls / women often would order jewellery from India when relatives went for vacation. It was sometimes an issue to mix and match. That’s where Amit got the idea and thought “why don’t we open a webshop where customers can choose, match and buy directly from us”

We have a lot of love for indian jewellery, especially Anita, and that’s why we want to bring the beautiful indian jewellery closer to you.

Indian Gehne´s aim is to offer affordable & beautiful indian artificial jewellery. We try to offer all kinds of jewellery in different materials, stones beads etc. and furthermore have a wide assortment.

At Indian Gehne we are aware of the difficulties expatriates have in locating genuine Indian imitation jewelry. Located in Copenhagen Denmark our journey started with a common issue that many of us in the diaspora from the Indian subcontinent had to deal with. Founded by a passionate husband and wife duo (Amit & Anita), Indian Gehne was born out of our personal struggles and desire to make a change.
